Full Moon
Casting a glow
It comes through my window
As I sleep
Simply waking me
Beckoning me to look.
I go to the window and sit by it.
The air is still.
Not a hint of a breeze.
The tall Pines stand erect
And cast long shadows across the grass.
I look up
And see the golden orb
Clear in the night sky
Like a permanent twilight
Everything has definition
But no color.
It is peaceful
surreal
I breathe it in
And exhale.
Sleep evades me,
But I am not sorry.
The moonlight bathes my senses
And calms my thoughts
Until once again
I can climb in my bed and find peace
Enough
To return to sleep
Soothing π
