Haiku No. 88: Fresh Pillows (5 Part Story)

fresh pillows

I laid down my head
On a pillow stuffed with shards
Of memories lost.

I emptied them out.
On the bed, scene of the crimes
Committed with me.

I was unaware
That he was a criminal.
I believed the lies.

Until I didn’t.
Clear as day, every word
Illuminated

I burned the bedclothes
In a purifying fire.
Got a fresh pillow.
