Question of the day
What is your favorite flower?
Mine is a sunflower, because I can’t look at one without it putting a smile on mt face. They are bright, and big, and happy! I have had a bouquet of artificial sunflowers on my kitchen table for years. I tried to grow them once, back when I was married. You know, the great big 6 ft tall ones. The squirrels and birds took all the seeds, so I didn’t get any of them growing in my yard. However, one seed must have fallen in the woods across the street from my driveway. I know this because as I drove out of my driveway one summer day right across from me was a 6 ft high sunflower in full bloom, with a huge flower at the top.
Anyway, I also love iris, and stargazer lillies, and peonies. I love hyacinth for their scent.
So tell me, in a comment or your own blog linked back to here, which flower most delights your eyes and nose?
As always, love and light to all.
Calla lilies. Why? I’ve always felt drawn to them. I’m honor of my late maternal grandmother, I have a beautiful calla lily bunch tattooed on my left side, near my ribcage. I love it.
Other than that, I’m not really a flower person, you know. Stinking allergies makes that hard. Haha.
*in honor of…
Oh man, I feel for you with the allergies! And I love calla lillies….they are so simple and pure. Thanks for comment. 🙂
You’re welcome. It’s an interesting question. 😊
My answer is boring but I would have to say roses.
Oh, that’s not boring! Roses are wonderful!
I like your surprise sunflower story. Sunflowers are my favorite to look at, and I have some artificial ones in my living room that need dusting. My favorite flowers to smell are honeysuckle, gardenia, and magnolia. And then there’s mimosa. I forgot about mimosa flowers – so delicate and beautiful – I don’t care what anybody says about them being invasive. I love mimosas.
Rose, Rose, ROSE! I can barely, BARELY grow them, but love them!
Lavander is beautiful!
Oh it is!!! It’s my favorite scent. I grow it in my herb garden just do the breeze will send the smell of lavender onto my deck. I have a painting of a field of sunflowers and lavender on my wall! Thanks for reading and commenting!
I grow it in my garden too! I have two bushes now and love them both 🙂
