I miss fireflies so much. We always called them “lightning bugs.” They have all but disappeared here…due to pesticides. Thanks for the picture…it brought back fond memories of when I was a child. 🙂
Us too. My parents would poke hole in the cap of a jar (they were all metal then, lol) and we’d run round seeing how many we could catch in the jar. Good memories…
My dad let me keep a jar like that with one firefly in it overnight so I could see what it looked like in the light of day. A completely ordinary creepy crawly bug. You’d never know how much magic was inside — a good life lesson!
