The evening fades
Hours gone by
Like the slow moving rain clouds
Which quenched the thirsty earth
Watching the grass reaching upward again
Long months of drought ended
The hibiscus blooms opened by day
Their tender petals closing with the fading light.
Reaching across the darkening twilight
For the hands that soothe my brow,
Calm my spirit, and touch my soul
I found you walking toward me.
Finally within view.
