Dark rum, diet coke
Diabetic dream, no carbs.
Squeeze a half lime in.
Now I want olives.
Stuffed with garlic, or bleu cheese
So I need some wine.
Van Morrison sings
There will be days like this one
It’s been a good day.
I just had one rum and coke. And a half glass of wine with the olives. ๐

Summer rain falling.
Warm, gentle, peaceful raindrops.
Quenching the earth’s thirst.

Sorting memories
Do I keep this, throw that out?
Does it make me smile, now?
Pictures of days past.
Reflecting how I got here.
How did it happen?
Am I happy, now?
Is my life rich and full, now?
My spirit finds joy.

You all know I love Van Morrison.ย ๐

Sitting in a stream
Of consciousness, I can yield.
The Universe smiles.

Imperceptible
Except to her, she could feel
His torment, or joy.
It ran through her soul
Igniting threads, erratic
But never-ending.
Most days she ignored
The twinkling showers of sparks
Some days were blinding.
Honor connection
It is ancient, and holy
She’s known him, always.

A thousand bees hum
A thousand fireflies flicker
A thousand dreams born
A thousand eyes see
A thousand hearts beat as one
A thousand songs sung
A thousand prayers raised
A thousand hopes enjoining
A thousand lives lived
A thousand, or more
Looking to the light for peace.
Be, of the thousand.

Green, so green, it is
where the grass gives way to trees
Reaching for the sky.
Blue, so blue, it is
Where the sky lifts aching souls
Healing with its grace.
Between green and blue
Life grows, and glows, offering
Unlimited joy
To those who seek it.
We know it’s there, just waiting
For us to decide.
I have known both sides
Pain and joy, love and sadness.
Joy and love remain.
The blue blue will calm
As the green green nourishes.
Love always, all ways.

Steam rose off her arms
As her breath chilled a cool stream
In a fiery sky.

ย Summer Saturday
Finally I can exhale.
Work week is over.
So I sit outside
Exhaling, then inhaling
Lavender’s sweet scent.
Growing in my yard
The scent wafts through on the breeze.
Calming my senses.
Lemon balm joins it,
Sweet and peaceful calm abounds.
Heart beats joyfully.
